I had my first physical exam in two years and was pretty nervous while waiting for the results. The last two years were probably the craziest years of my life. Anyways, I got the call on Friday afternoon. Food, watch out. My results have never been better!!

On that note, I treated myself to Taste of Tribeca 2009. Sushi, duck, lamb, chicken, scallops, crawfish, veggies, desserts, wine, wine and more wine, it was the perfect way to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon. Best dishes of the day was the chicken with fresh ramps and wild mushrooms from Chanterel (top left corner picture), the braised lamb (lower left corner) and the lamb meatball (bottom center).
Oh, and I managed to push my way to the front of a lamb cook-off. Man I love lamb…. The cook-off was between two celebrity chefs and emcee-ed by Drew Nieporent, owner of Corton, Tribeca Grill, Nobu, Nobu Fifty Seven, Nobu London, Next Door Nobu, Mai House, Centrico and Crush Wine & Spirits, Rubicon and more. If all his restaurants were to simultaneously combust, he definitely has a calling for emcee-ing.

The following is my favorite picture of the event. That must be a comfortable judges’ table! Everyone, Josh Ozersky from The Feedbag, one of my food blog reads!

Hahaha. Aside from the AMAZING pictures on this post, I’ll have to say. The picture of that judge is hilarious. “Picking up napkin..”. Jk
Nice one!
