About my Blog

Everyone blogs about their view into this world, their thoughts and their lives.  This blog is no different; food is my world and food is my life.  You read your newspaper every morning, I read my food blog subscriptions.  You plan your dinner a few hours before, I plan my dinner while eating dinner the night before.  You plan trips around scenery and monuments, I plan them around food.

Ever since I can remember, I’ve had an infatuation with food.  In fact, I even had a reoccurring nightmare about food attacking me; I can’t blame them.  I remember routinely scarfing down 20 chicken McNuggets and even once chowing through an entire large pizza from Pizza Hut as an afternoon snack.  I eat at least twice as much as my entire family combined; raising me must have been expensive.

AlexEatsWorld is a place to centralize and publicize my excessive addiction to food and my penchant for overeating; a place to show the world just what a glutton I have become.

I say “Welcome, now watch me eat.”

My Equipment

nikond60I just jumped into the dSLR world by purchasing a Nikon D60, and I love it. Great small, lightweight camera to carry around and bust out at restaurants. My main lens now is the Sigma 18-50mm f/2.8 HSM Macro. Before that I shot pictures on my Canon SD850 point and shoot and some posts will include pictures from this amazing compact. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

My favorite comment so far “My friend licked her monitor looking at your lobster pic.”

I recently came across your website via another food blog and must say that your photographs are irresistibly beautiful. The lighting is perfect and the clarity accentuates the gorgeous details of the food. Granted, nods must go to the camera itself but it also takes a skillful eye and hands to capture such beauty. Have you considered applying for a position as a photographer for one of the food magazines? You should because I think your photos would far surpass the ones I’ve seen. :o )

When I have a crappy day, I turn on Google Reader and look at your food and restaurant reviews. They cheer me up with their colorful high-res “pop” and your descriptions leave little to the imagination. I’ve been to the French Laundry and Charlie Trotter’s, so I can attest to having my mind – and palate – blown away by good eats. Keep up the great work, sir.
